While referring to your letter from the Office of Student Conduct, review the appropriate section below for steps needed to fulfill the sanction assigned to you.
Exceptions/substitutions cannot be made. To successfully fulfill a sanction, the steps below need to be completed. To help you fulfill your sanction, we will report your attendance and completion of the below requirements to the Office of Student Conduct.
There will be a standard $100.00 fee billed to your student account titled “Cougar Accountability”

Alcohol: First Violation
- Attend Alcohol Workshop 1
- Complete Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO online assessment. Once finished, results appear on the screen directing you to complete (a) or (b) below.
- (a) Attend Alcohol Workshop 2 (bring eCHECKUP TO GO feedback) OR
(b) Come to Counseling Services before 4:30pm and schedule a 1:1 educational meeting. To schedule, you must bring your printed OSC sanction letter and eCHECKUP TO GO feedback.
Cannabis: First Violation
- Attend Cannabis Workshop 1
- Complete Marijuana eCHECKUP TO GO online assessment. Once finished, results appear on screen directing you to complete (a) or (b) below.
- (a) Attend Cannabis Workshop 2 (bring eCHECKUP TO GO feedback) OR
(b) come to counseling Services before 4:30pm and schedule a 1:1 educational meeting. To schedule, you must bring your printed OSC sanction letter and eCHECKUP TO GO feedback.

Polysubstance: First Violation
- Complete ASSIST Online Assessment

Cougar Accountability Fee
Students found in violation of University Alcohol and Drug policies outlined by the Office of Student Conduct are subject to disciplinary action through the Student Conduct process, which includes a standard $100.00 fee. The fee will appear on your student account 41 days after the day your sanction was assigned. The fee must be paid through your student account; this cannot be paid in person at Counseling and Psychological Services or OSC.
The Office of Student Conduct manages conduct holds. If you have completed your sanction, please contact their office to inquire about removing your hold. If you have not completed your sanction you will first need to do so in order to have your hold removed.
Individual Educational Meeting
If you have been notified that you need to schedule and attend an individual (1:1) educational meeting with one of our counselors, please read and do the following:
- Come to Counseling and Psychological Services (Washington Building) before 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Bring required documentation (WSU ID card, printed OSC sanction letter, and eCHECKUP TO GO results if needed for your sanction). If you arrive after 4:30pm, you will need to come back at a different time.
- Inform staff that you need to schedule an appointment for an individual (1:1) educational meeting and provide the staff with the aforementioned documentation.
- Prior to scheduling your appointment, you will then be asked to complete paperwork which should take 20-30 minutes.
- After paperwork is completed, the staff member will schedule a 1:1 appointment time for you.
- Return to Counseling and Psychological Services at your scheduled time to attend your appointment.
Late or Cancellation Policy
Cancellation: If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, please let us know in advance so that we can make the time available to someone else. If you don’t call to cancel by 4pm the day prior to your scheduled appointment, this will be considered a late cancellation and your student account will be charged a $25.00 late cancellation fee. This late fee is in addition to the IMPACT course fee.
Late & No‐Shows: Demand for services is high, and our counselors’ time is valuable. If you show up for your appointment more than 25 minutes late, or do not cancel your appointment in advance, your student account will be charged a $25.00 no-show fee.This fee is in addition to the IMPACT course fee. If you arrive for your appointment later than 25 minutes after your scheduled appointment, you will need to reschedule an appointment to meet with a counselor.
Deadlines & Workshop Scheduling
My schedule does not fit with when Workshop 2 is offered. Can I go straight to a 1:1 meeting instead?
No, you cannot. Students need to attend the next step identified after completing eCHECKUP TO GO. If you attend what you were not directed to you will need to complete the correct step for your sanction to be considered complete.
IMPACT workshop dates/times conflict with my class and/or work schedule. What can I do?
Workshop classes are only offered at the dates & times listed, if other obligations arise you need to change your schedule accordingly.
I cannot meet the 14, or 30 day deadline stated in my sanction letter. What can I do?

eCHECKUP TO GO Assessment
How can I get past the consent form for the IMPACT eCHECKUP TO GO assessment?
The consent form needs to be completed prior to proceeding to the assessment. You will need to read the consent form, and select “Yes” to item 1 and item 2, in order to proceed to the assessment.
When attempting to make an new account for eCHECKUP TO GO I am told I have not yet been referred to the website. What do I do?
Make sure you are using your WSU email address in the format of email@example.com. Example: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have not yet attended Workshop 1, you will not be able to create your account. If you have attended Workshop 1 and are entering in your WSU email address in the correct format and still having trouble please contact: email@example.com
Do I complete e-CHUG/e-TOKE?
No. e-CHUG and e-TOKE are for non-sanction students. If you are a sanction student, you need to complete the assessment through this page. If you complete e-CHUG or e-TOKE, you will need to take the appropriate assessment through the link above in order to successfully fulfill your sanction.
Sanction Letter & Proof Of Completion
On the website it states I need to bring my sanction letter with me to schedule a 1:1 meeting, I no longer have a copy of my letter, what can I do?
You will receive your sanction letter via email You must print this email and bring a hard copy to make 1:1 appointments at Counseling and Psychological Services. If you no longer have the email, please contact the Office of Student Conduct to request they re-send it to your email address.
I am confused by my sanction letter. Who can I contact to help me navigate what needs to be done to complete my sanction?

How do I get a ‘proof of completion’ certificate for court, my lawyer, etc.?
You will need to come to Counseling Services to complete a Release of Information form, or send an email to email@example.com and we can e-mail you the form. Once you submit the form via fax or in person allow 7 business days for processing. We will provide documentation of how far along you are in the IMPACT program, and/or the date you completed. You will need to come to Counseling Services to pick this up. Please note: IMPACT information is strictly confidential; we cannot provide any information unless a Release of Information has been submitted.
Tips for Printing
If you are printing from certain locations on the WSU Campus, you may be limited to only a certain number of pages (e.g. only 10 pages). This may limit your ability to print out the full packet for IMPACT as the IMPACT Alcohol packets are 14 pages and the IMPACT Cannabis packets are 9 pages. If you do not have a complete packet printed for the second workshop, you will not be admitted.
Printing Your Assessment Results
When you have completed the survey, you will see a page similar to the one below. Note: under “IMPACT Next Steps”, you may see “you need to attend IMPACT class 2” OR “you need to attend an educational meeting”.
In order to print the entire feedback packet, click either “PRINT RESULTS” in the shaded box on the right hand side of the page or the “PRINT OUT” link under step 1 (see picture below).
DO NOT use the following links to print your packet. These links (see picture below) do not print the correct packet.
When you have clicked the appropriate link to print your packet, it is important that you have page 8 in the packet (see below). This is the page that instructs you to attend a second workshop or a 1:1 meeting. If the page with the Impact Next Steps section does not print, please return to your feedback and print this page separately.
Logging Back In To Print
- Log into the eCHECKUP TO GO sign-in page using the login and password you created at the time you took the assessment.
- Select the assessment you wish to view. A new tab will open with the assessment results.
- Select the “Resources” tab (located top-right)
- Select “Print Results”
