Green Dot

About

Green Dot is a violence prevention program that focuses on making our campus safer by empowering bystanders, like you, to become active members in reducing gender-based violence (intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual assault). Green Dot will equip you with tools and strategies for taking action to help someone at risk for experiencing gender-based violence. During this workshop, we’ll also talk about how you can overcome personal barriers to take action and help your fellow Cougs. After training, you’ll feel confident in your ability to help stop violence before it happens.

Green Dot is mandatory

Green Dot is a mandatory program for all incoming first-year and transfer undergraduate students on the WSU Pullman campus. This includes all students who live in a residence hall, Greek residence, or who have an exception to the first-year, live-in rule.

Incoming students who are part-time, non-degree seeking, or post-baccalaureate are not required to attend this program.

To ensure you receive credit for attending the Green Dot Workshop, please bring your WSU ID card.

Other mandatory programs

Green Dot is part two of the Safety on Campus training you did during Alive! orientation. In addition to Green Dot, you may need to complete other mandatory programs.

Week of Welcome workshops

Incoming students will be assigned to attend a Green Dot workshop during Week of Welcome based on their housing arrangements.

Formal sorority and fraternity recruitment students. Incoming students who participate in formal sorority and fraternity recruitment will be assigned to a workshop with your recruitment group. For more information, please contact your Rho Chi or Rho Gamma.

Residence hall students. Incoming students living in the residence halls will be assigned to attend a workshop. When you check into your residence hall, your welcome packet will include the date, time and location of your workshop. For more information, please contact your RA.

Off-campus students. Incoming students living off campus (transfer students and/or students who are exempt from the live-in requirement) will need to sign up for a workshop in CougSync.

If you‘re unable to attend a Green Dot program during Week of Welcome, it’s your responsibility to attend a make-up workshop during the semester.

Student account hold

If you do not complete your mandatory Green Dot program, a registration hold will be placed on your student account and prevent you from registering for classes next semester.

You can view the schedule and register for a make-up workshop on CougSync.

Attending a Green Dot make-up workshop is the only way to remove a hold on your account. Temporary removal of a hold is not an option. Please note it can take up to two days after attending a workshop to remove a hold.

If you’ve already attended a Green Dot workshop and have a hold on your account, please email us and include:

  • Your full name
  • WSU ID number
  • The date, time, and location of the workshop you attended

Please allow two business days to process all requests so that we may review our attendance files.
