GSA Eligibility

GSA Eligibility

The following eligible Graduate Student Assistants will automatically be enrolled in the Plan each semester:

  • WSU Graduate Student Assistants who are paying tuition and fees for 10 or more credit hours; who have an Assistantship stipend of at least 50%; and who are eligible for a Qualified Tuition Reduction or a Tuition Fee Waiver.
  • Full-time Graduate Research Fellows/Trainees who are paid a stipend of at least $800 per month; who are engaged in research similar to that of a Research Assistant; and who are eligible for a Qualified Tuition Reduction or a Tuition Fee Waiver.

 

The following family members may be enrolled at the graduate student's request:

  • The spouse of the Covered Student; also the Covered Student’s eligible dependent children, as defined in the policy booklet. If continuously enrolled under this Plan, or a Plan previously issued to the University, prior to age 19, a developmentally disabled or physically handicapped dependent child, upon reaching age 19, may continue coverage.
  • A domestic partner of the Covered Student, who qualifies under the eligibility requirements as defined by the University.
  • Coverage for a spouse or child must be requested according to the Enrollment Procedures outlined in the policy brochure.

Each eligible Graduate Student Assistant will be advised of automatic enrollment by Health & Wellness Services.
